# Get notifications when something at a location is new
Chicago Cityscape can send emails to you when something – see the list below – is new or updated. Every morning, our system checks for new and updated information at hundreds of locations that members are tracking.
## What information prompts an email
An email will be sent if any of the following information is added or updated in our database:
- A building permit for renovation, new construction, or demolition is issued for the tracked address or within 150 feet [1] (Chicago only)
- A building violation is issued for the tracked address or within 150 feet [1] (Chicago only)
- A property transaction (sale) (Cook County only, updated quarterly)
- A new or updated news article, rendering, or other document
- A new environmental inspection (Chicago only)
- A new environmental permit is issued (Chicago only)
- An ordinance is added or has a status change (Chicago only)
- A business license is issued (Chicago only)
- A property is added to the Cook County Land Bank Authority inventory (Cook County only)
- A property is added to the Chicago-owned land inventory (Chicago only)
- A recording associated with the PIN is added (this requires that the address you are tracking is tracked from a PIN-based Property Report - contact us if you're unsure) (Cook County only)
## Notes
1. Sometimes new data that occurs *near* the tracked address is included. This is because sometimes a member will track one address but the new data has an address that is adjacent to the tracked address and we want to ensure the member sees that.
2. Your [[Personal notes|private notes]] may appear in the Property Report's email notification. Since there can be some time between emailed updates it's easy to forget why you subscribed to a location. With your private note there, you're reminded! See *screenshot 1* below.
